Door Games: Play Classic BBS Games Right in Your Browser
One of the best parts of old-school BBSing was the door games. We have brought that experience to the web with two different game servers running side by side.
BBSLink Network Games
We are connected to the BBSLink network, which hosts over 30 classic door games on a shared InterBBS server. This means when you play Legend of the Red Dragon, Trade Wars, or Usurper here, you are competing against players from hundreds of BBS systems around the world.
BBSLink games run through a web-based terminal emulator. When you launch a game, a terminal window opens and connects you to the game server. It feels just like the real thing.
Local Door Games
We also run our own local game server with games that are hosted right here on 6502ish. These include titles that are not on the BBSLink network or games we want to run with our own configuration.
How to Play
- Navigate to Door Games from the main menu
- Choose a game from the list
- Click Play — a terminal window opens in your browser
- Play the game using your keyboard, just like on a real BBS
Tips
- Some games have daily turns — come back each day to use your moves
- InterBBS scores are shared across all connected BBSes
- Door games work best on desktop — some may be tricky on mobile screens
