[UPDATE] Mod escalations now flow through the /admin/moderation queue with real resolution tracking.

What happens when a mod clicks "Escalate to SysOps":

  • A thread is still created in the mod-only Escalations to Admins forum (same as before).
  • A tracking row is now also created in reports with type forum_escalation, status open, linking back to the thread.
  • Every admin + super-admin gets an in-app notification with a link straight to /admin/moderation/{id}.

On the escalation thread itself: a status banner at the top shows Awaiting admin review / Under review / Resolved, plus an "Open in Moderation Queue" button for mods. When resolved, the banner shows who closed it and when.

In /admin/moderation: escalations render with a distinct action panel:

  • Resolve & share determination — admin writes resolution notes. The notes are posted as a reply to the escalation thread (locking it) AND sent to the escalating mod as a notification.
  • Dismiss escalation — also shares the dismiss reason with the mod (unlike user-content reports, which keep the determination private for privacy reasons).

Why the difference in disclosure: mods are on the moderation team, so sharing the determination improves their on-the-ground judgment. Regular users who report content still get the existing privacy-preserving "your report was reviewed" notification with no specifics.
