Friends and Private Messages
6502ish has a built-in friends system and private messaging, so you can connect directly with other members.
Friends
Send a friend request from any member's profile page. Once they accept, you will both show up in each other's friend lists. You can see mutual friends when visiting someone's profile, and some profiles are set to Friends Only visibility.
When you first verify your account, you will get a friend request from me (Patrick). Feel free to accept it — I am always happy to chat.
Private Messages
Click the Message button on any user's profile to start a private conversation. Messages support Markdown formatting, so you can use bold, code blocks, and links just like in forum posts.
Blocking
If someone is bothering you, use the Block button on their profile. Blocked users cannot message you, see your profile, or interact with you in any way. You can manage your block list from your Settings menu.
Tips
- Check your notifications regularly — that is where friend requests and new messages appear
- Use messages for anything you would rather not post publicly
- Your friend count and mutual friends are visible on your profile
