Deleting a forum is a serious action — for non-super-admins, it requires email confirmation.

Where: Mod Tools → Delete Forum (owner or admin only).

For non-super-admins (forum owner / admin):

  1. Click Delete Forum — you're taken to a confirmation page.
  2. A 6-digit code is emailed to your address on file (10-minute TTL).
  3. Enter the code and click Confirm delete.
  4. The forum is soft-deleted: invisible to everyone except super admins.

For super admins: no code required — the confirmation page is a single Delete forum button.

What "soft-deleted" means:

  • The forum is hidden from the index, thread pages return 404 to non-super-admins.
  • All threads, posts, subscriptions, and members are preserved but inaccessible.
  • A super admin sees it in the Forums awaiting super-admin review panel at /admin/forums with Restore and Purge buttons + a notification.

Super admins decide: restore (undo the delete) or purge (permanent, irreversible).

Restoring: super admin clicks Restore; the forum returns to normal visibility, all data intact.
